Over a period of four years, MJA navigated through three separate DA’s on the same site for this project - each entirely different - as a result of dramatic engineering improvements to the lagoon configuration.

Having just recently opened to the public at the start of this year, the Melbourne Wavepark is now the first commercially operating wavepark facility in the southern hemisphere.

The built forms have been designed as a campus of pavilions connected via re-appropriated sea containers that simultaneously act to provide shelter, shade & containment across a sprawling, windswept site.
