Marina Apartments | Mindarie, WA
Its 44 apartments have prime location within the marina, boasting a variety of spectacular marina and ocean views across its five levels. Whilst maximising access to these views was a primary driver for the project the design also focuses on efficiently designed open plan apartment types, cross ventilation, passive solar principles and generous landscaped communal areas to provide a high quality residential environment for its occupants.
The building sits comfortably within its surrounding context, with three storeys addressing the adjacent single residential streets increasing to four on the marina boardwalk level below. Its concrete and glass construction is sufficiently robust to resist what can often be a harsh oceanside environment whilst also managing to maintain a light, refined and modern aesthetic.
Occupying one of two important multi-residential sites that address the heart of the marina the building’s clean lines and elegant form seeks an alternate character for the area, creating a strong architectural benchmark for others adding to the residential infill which is occurring rapidly in the surrounds.
All 44 apartments sold off the plan over the launch weekend and the project received the Architecture award for Multiple housing award at the WA Architecture Awards in July 2015.
